Something fun to do in Phoenix, AZ?

I was interested in going to the Challenger space center but I have a 2 year old and I don't know if that would be a problem. or is that place just for kids? I've been to wildlife world zoo so maybe this time visit the phoenix zoo. Its my husband (22) me (21) and my 2 year old son. What would be a good place to have fun. Or maybe a museum you can reccomend?

Right now it’s just too hot to be outside for long, so I would put off going to the Zoo until Fall when the weather is cooler and they have more activities going on if you’re interested in doing the whole thing. However, they do have an event called Prowl and Play on 8/10 and 8/11 that is centered around kids and in the cooler evening hours (also a reduced admission rate) http://www.phoenixzoo.org/events/special_events/special_events_detail.aspx?ARTICLE_ID=100758

For daytime things:
I would very highly recommend the Children’s Museum of Phoenix downtown. They are always switching out things to do, everything is hands on, it’s not too pricey and best of all….air conditioning. I took my son there when he was around 2 for the first time and I was more than impressed. http://childrensmuseumofphoenix.org/

Some other places with much needed A/C I would recommend are:

Arizona Museum for Youth in downtown Mesa http://arizonamuseumforyouth.com/

Arizona Museum of Natural History in downtown Mesa (especially if he likes dinosaurs) http://www.azmnh.org/

SEA LIFE Aquairum in AZ Mills Mall in Tempe http://www.visitsealife.com/Arizona/

AZ Science Center in downtown Phoenix (although older kids may get more out of it) http://www.azscience.org/
